domo is a digital house guide for holiday-home guests. We collect as little as we can: guests have no account and never give us a name, email or phone number. Everything runs in the EU.
Who we are
domo (domo.help) is responsible for this app. Questions or a request about your data? Email privacy@domo.help. The host of each home decides what goes in that home's guide.
If you're a guest
- No account. You open the guide with a private link from your host. One cookie remembers that you opened it (up to 30 days), another your language.
- Your questions. A question (and any photo) goes to an AI service run by Scaleway in Paris, which answers it from the home's guide. We don't keep answered questions, unless the host has switched on a question log: the guide then says so, and your typed questions (never photos) are kept without any name or IP address for 7, 30 or 90 days, as the host chooses. A question the guide couldn't answer is shown to the host without any name or IP address, so they can fill the gap. Those are deleted after 90 days.
- Messages to your host. If the host switches this on, you can send them a message from the guide. Only the host reads it. We don't ask who you are: the conversation belongs to a cookie in your browser. Messages are stored encrypted and deleted 30 days after the last one. You can delete the conversation yourself sooner, in the guide. The host gets an email with only a link, not your words.
- Photos. Your browser removes location data from a photo before sending it. We use it for that one answer and don't keep it.
- Offline. Wifi, the steps to get in and the house rules are saved on your phone so you can read them without signal. They are wiped once your link ends or is replaced.
- Your IP address is only held briefly in memory to limit abuse (at most 40 questions and 20 messages an hour). We don't write it down or log it.
- No trackers. No ads, no analytics, no scripts or fonts from Google, Meta or anyone else. You only reach Google Maps, YouTube, WhatsApp or Signal when you tap a link to them.
If you're a host
- We keep your email address to sign you in with one-time links that expire after 15 minutes. For each link we keep only a fingerprint, with your IP address, to limit abuse.
- We keep what you enter about your home: address, phone number, wifi, instructions, devices, places nearby and photos. Your wifi password, arrival and departure steps, guest link, guest messages and question log are stored encrypted with AES-128 (Fernet, with an HMAC-SHA256 check against tampering).
- We look up an address with OpenStreetMap to work out distances to places. Photos of rating plates and manuals go to the same AI service in Paris to suggest a brand and model or steps.
- You can delete your account and everything in it yourself, under Settings. After that it stays in our backups for at most 8 weeks; those are encrypted with AES-256 (restic).

If you join the waitlist we email you once when domo opens.
